SMWS 108.20 - Out’n’aboutThe nose has honey, faint lavender, toffee and burnt heather - very sweet with a slight smoke. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has toffee, pears, burnt heather, and then peat smoke and paprika. The finish has pears, peat smoke and a hint of paprika.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles quickly into brief mottling. The nose gains pears and lemon, and loses the lavender. The body gains pears and lemons, and a little milk chocolate. The finish gains milk chocolate and more smoke.

An interesting lightly peated dram, which will certainly fool people into thinking it’s from a certain island...

One for autumn evenings.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
