SMWS 108.22 - Cold cure? The nose has seafood barbecues, lemon sherbert and ginger snaps. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has grilled seafood, lemon sherbert, vanilla essence and ginger. The finish has ginger, sharp lemon, grilled seafood and a little hint of oak.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles quickly into decent mottling. The nose gains hints of lime and loses some of the ginger. The body gains lime and cinnamon, but loses nothing. The finish gains lime, cinnamon and loses a little of the ginger.

A very pleasant peated dram from the mainland, showing it doesn’t have to be from a certain island to be worthwhile. Sadly a lot of people will overlook it because of its location.

One for autumn evenings.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
