SMWS 112.41 - Tart fruit crumbleThe nose has raspberries, melon, red apples, pears and a hint of sugar dusting. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has red apples, pears, rhubarb and shortbread with a hint of cinnamon. The finish has red apples, rhubarb, cinnamon and ginger.

Water brings out thin, rapidly spreading whorling that lingers but never quite mottles. The nose gains vanilla, rhubarb and hints of parma violets. The body gains parma violets but loses nothing. The finish gains parma violets.

A very nice dram, which holds the ginger in check with floral and fruit notes.

One for summer afternoons.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
