11 years old, distilled 8th August 2007, 57.0% abv, Second Fill Ex-Bourbon Hogshead, 324 bottles, dram price B

112.44 - Talking point whiskyThe nose has pot pourri, strawberries, marmalade and straw matting. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has strawberries, quince, straw and a little cinnamon. The finish has quince and cinnamon.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains quince and loses the pot pourri. The body gains more quince and some clove, and loses the strawberries. The finish gains cloves.

A delight without water, but not my style after.

One for spring afternoons - so long as no rain gets in my glass!

Technical score: 3/5

Personal preference: Just the one dram, thanks.
