DSC_0130The nose has dried pineapple, elderflower and hints of tea chests. Very quiet. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has pineapple juice, balsa wood, lemon, cherries and bubblegum. The finish has pineapple juice, sandalwood and cinnamon.

Water brings out thin, compact whorling that settles quickly into very brief mottling. The nose gains brioche, honey and some straw notes. The body gains brioche, sandalwood, hints of peach and some honey. The finish gains more cinnamon and some honey.

A very tight whisky, which needs time or water to give the most - and has plenty to give. That cinnamon note has a little warmth to it though, so I wasn’t thrilled by it.

One for autumn mornings.

Technical score: 3.5/5

Personal preference: Just the one dram, thanks.
