SMWS 137.2 - War seahorseThe nose has soft lemon notes, peat, ash, and a hint of butterscotch. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body is more intense than the nose, with scorched oak, peat, ash and lemon. The finish has lemon and peat smoke.

Water brings out thin, compact whorling that doesn't quite settle into mottling before it dissipates. The nose gains sea breezes, more lemon and some lime, as well as more ash. The body gains ash and loses the scorched oak. The finish gains sea breezes and ash but retains the peat smoke and lemon.

Another great whisky from Norfolk, this is easily the rival of any peated whisky elsewhere.

One for winter afternoons and evenings.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: I'd like a bottle.
