SMWS 2.113 - Conveyor belt of joyThe nose has old oak furniture, rhubarb and hints of lemon. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has lemon, rhubarb, apricot, mango, peaches and then the oak appears as it dries. The finish is oak, with lemon and apricot in the background.

The water has tight, thin whorling that slowly spreads into mottling. The nose gains mango and apricot, and has less oak. The body gains more of the fruits - rhubarb, lemon and mango becoming more prominent, and the oak being quieter. The finish has a similar effect, with the oak still there but less dominant.

A stunning dram, brilliantly balanced. It shows why this is one of the biggest selling malts in the world.

One for an evening with old friends.

Technical score: 4.5/5

Personal preference: I’d like more than one bottle.
