The nose has toffee, raisins, sultanas, caramel, and a hint of exotic wood - sandalwood or cedarwood? The mouthfeel is thick with a little cling. The body has toffee, caramel, orange concentrate, sultanas and then a big hit of gingerbread. The finish is gingerbread and sultanas.

Water brings out thick whorling that doesn't spread much, and quickly dissipates. The nose gains gingerbread and more of the exotic wood notes. The body gains tobacco notes, mandarins, seville oranges and more gingerbread. The finish gains tobacco leaves and oranges.

An entrancing dram that will get sherry fans drooling, this needs water and patience but rewards both with a superb example of sherry maturation. One for the fireside.
