SMWS 37.111 - Lapsang souchong and cassisThe nose has hay, pear, peaches, cherry lips and hints of cinnamon. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has pear, tea chests, vanilla, flint, and cinnamon. The finish has cinnamon and pear with a hint of tea leaves.

Water brings out tight, thin whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains more peach and loses the cinnamon. The body gains toffee and more pear, and loses the cinnamon and tea leaves. The finish gains toffee and also loses the tea leaves.

A very drinkable dram, with plenty of fruit notes balanced by some good wood.

One for summer evenings.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: I'd have another dram.
