12 years old, distilled 21st February 2007, 60.2% abv, Refill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 194 bottles, dram price B

The nose has pineapple and pencil shavings, with hints of lime and tobacco. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has blackcurrant, plums, and chilli, with lemon in the background. The finish has plums and chilli.

Water brings out thick, compact whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains plums and loses the tobacco. The body gains orange marmalade and spiced plums. The finish gains more chilli spice.

Not quite too spicy, but borderline for me. A very nice set of fruit and wood flavours means I might go back to it.

One for spring mornings.
