SMWS 58.21 - Old-fashioned confectionersThe nose is a complex array of sweetness - baked apples, heather, lavender, apricot and rosewater. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has apricot, baked apple, nutmeg, cinnamon and hints of ginger. Quite a difference from the nose! The finish has cinnamon and nutmeg, with hints of apricot.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles quickly into brief mottling. The nose gains nutmeg and more lavender, losing the rosewater and lavender notes. The body gains pineapple and sherbet, losing the apricot and gaining more nutmeg and cinnamon towards the finish. The finish loses the apricot.

A decent dram for autumnal evenings.

3/5 (Because with water it lost some of the fruit that I so liked at first.)
