SMWS 6.35 - Cherry cream cheese cupcakesThe nose has raspberry ripple ice-cream, honey, and hints of cinnamon. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has honey, raspberry ripple ice-cream, green apples, bananas and cinnamon. The finish has raspberry, vanilla and cinnamon with a hint of green apples.

Water brings out thick, rapidly expanding whorling that settles quickly into brief mottling. The nose gains lemon and cherry, and some cinnamon sticks. The body gains more vanilla and honey, and the banana is diminished. The finish gains more wood notes - vanilla and more cinnamon.

A superb dram - fruity and not too spicy, delicious. I preferred it without water, but it’s fine with it. Another dram from an overlooked distillery - which I’m sure will find its way into my selection!

One for summer afternoons.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: I’d like more than one bottle.
