SMWS 7.212 - Mile-high coconut cream pieThe nose has lime, orange fruit gums, and hints of old oak furniture. The mouthfeel is decent with no cling. The body has oranges, lime and then cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is nutmeg and cinnamon.

Water brings out thick, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into lingering mottling. The nose gains more orange and some sultanas, and loses the oak a little. The body gains oak furniture and loses some of the lime, cinnamon and nutmeg - although they don't go completely. The finish gains a little lime, and the nutmeg and cinnamon are dissipated.

A little too much nutmeg for me, but this calmed down with water. Beautifully constructed and the fruit notes are lovely and soft - if only I didn't dislike the heat of the nutmeg so much!

One for summer evenings.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: Just the one dram, thanks.
