SMWS 84.27 - A bittersweet, juicy and fruity treatThe nose has peaches, apricot, green apples, pears and a hint of toasted wood. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has vanilla, toasted wood, peaches, and a hint of ginger. The finish has ginger and hints of apricot and peaches.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains plums and loses the green apples. The body gains more vanilla and a hint of dark chocolate. The finish gains more vanilla and loses some of the apricot and peaches, with the ginger being tempered by a hint of mango.

An intriguing set of flavours, far more than I expected, and all nicely held together.

One for summer evenings as the sun sets.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: I'd have another dram.
