The nose has apricots, puff pastry, pears, ripe damsons and a little hint of cinnamon. The mouthfeel is decent, with a little cling. The body has toffee, plums, damsons, and hints of apples - all nicely mixed so none is dominant. An expert's fruit cordial? The finish is plums and a light touch of cinnamon.
Water brings out thin, lazy whorling that doesn't linger. The nose now gains a little more cinnamon and loses the puff pastry. The body has more cinnamon, less toffee. The finish is unchanged.
A decent dram for cold winter's days, evoking the memories of late summer.
