The nose has light, sweet smoke - hints of incense, vanilla and then a little fennel. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has fennel, toffee, cinnamon and light smoke. The finish is brief - light smoke then nothing.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles quickly into light mottling. The nose has more toffee, less fennel. The body loses the cinnamon, and has a little more smoke. There's​ also some more vanilla. The finish is unchanged.

A capable and charming dram that starts the end of the evening very well.
