SMWS 77.53 - A delectable confectionThe nose has lemons, oranges and candyfloss, with hints of toffee in the background. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has pears, lemons, oranges, then moves towards vanilla, then cinnamon and cardamom. The finish has lemon, vanilla, cinnamon and cardamom.

Water brings out thick, compact whorling that dissipates before mottling. The nose gains even more lemon and oranges - now candied - but loses the candyfloss. The body gains more lemon and loses the oranges. The finish gains lemon.

Great fruits, especially in the nose, but the spicy finish is never going to be my style. Not a bad dram by any stretch, albeit a little simple in construction.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: Just the one dram, thanks.
