16 years old, distilled 25th July 2000, 62.4% abv, Second Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 261 bottles, dram price B

The nose has oak furniture, butterscotch and custard creams. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling - very smooth, quite creamy. The body has butterscotch, vanilla and custard creams. The finish has custard creams and an intense cinnamon.

Water brings out thick, rapidly expanding but short-lived whorling. The nose now has more of the oak, and gains cornflakes. The body has gained cornflakes and toffee, but not lost any of the prior flavours. The finish is less aggressive, slightly creamier.

A grain whisky doesn't need to be very old to be very good. And this one is excellent - one for any occasion.
