SMWS 42.42 - Waiter... there's ash in my coffeeThe nose has toffee, ash, distant bonfire smoke and a little hint of sea breezes. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has toffee, ash and hints of lemon, before the smoke rolls in towards the finish. The finish has ash, smoke and hints of lemon.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles quickly into brief mottling. The nose gains seafood and more brine, and a hint of lemon. The body gains more toffee and loses the lemon, but has some liquorice towards the finish. The finish is a little more restrained, with less lemon and a hint of liquorice.

A stonker of a dram from an underrated distillery - one for finishing the evening at any time of year.
