The nose has brine, ginger and light peat smoke. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has peat smoke, ginger and a little bit of smoke back bacon. The finish is peat smoke and a little hint of ginger.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains fennel and more bacon, and loses some of the ginger. The body gains the same fennel and more bacon notes. The finish gains the bacon.

A simple but decent Islay - one for the start of the end of the evening.
